Missing Teeth

If you are missing one or more teeth, don't despair. Treatment for missing teeth has changed over the last few years. Bridges and dentures were the only alternatives until a few years ago. Now we have the ability to replace missing teeth with "implants". Implants are titanium tooth "roots" which are placed where the teeth used to be, with a new "crown" on top to make them look exactly like a brand new tooth. Although partial dentures or full dentures are still in use, they are a less satisfactory way of replacing missing teeth. Implants are the bionic answer for those disadvantaged by lost teeth. Although relatively expensive implants are a wonderful aid in restoring a cosmetic appearance and fully functional teeth. Bridges are also a wonderful way of replacing missing teeth so well that a trained observer can be hard pressed to tell the "real teeth" from the bridges.
